Some folks have asked to see what kind of maps I make at work. Here are a few (Adobe .pdf files, roughly 1,000 kb each)

Lemon Creek Watershed Recovery Plan maps (JWP) - Lemon Creek is an anadromous stream in Juneau that flows through a rapidly developing section of town.

DRAFT Auke Lake Watershed Assessment maps (JWP) - Auke Lake is an anadromous lake near Auke Bay. The Juneau Watershed Partnership is working to develop a document to inform local decision-makers and guide future community development.

Isostatic Rebound in southeast Alaska maps - Isostatic rebound (post-glacial land emergence due to uplift) rates throughout the Juneau area are estimated using a sequence of historic maps depicting Spuhn Island, Juneau, Alaska in this undergraduate GIS course project.

Lower Salmon River Thalweg Meander, Gustavus, AK maps (USFWS) - Landowners adjacent to the Lower Salmon River are concerned about rates of land loss due to meandering. A series of historic aerial images were used to visually demonstrate areas where active and historic erosion are located, including sites where bank stabilization occurred.

  current graduate research

Currently enrolled "In Absentia" at Cornell University, I am completing my Master's of Professional Studies in the Biological and Environmental Engineering program. My work focuses primarily on Variable Source Area Hydrology and implementing simple web-based mapping tools for improving water quality. For more information, visit my personal web page on the Soil and Water Lab web site.
